Following the nomination period, the Election Commission addressed three objections filed against the submissions. These objections were reviewed and rejected in accordance with the Election Act, clearing the way for the remaining candidates.
The Election Commission also issued voting marks to the independent candidates. This follows the deadline for depositing bail money, which was set for August 14, 2024, at noon. All 40 candidates met this requirement, ensuring their participation in the election process.
The call for nominations was initially announced on July 26, 2024, setting the stage for the presidential election.
