Sajith's ONE STOP SHOP concept
Sajith Premadasa, the opposition leader and presidential candidate of Samagi Jana Balawega, has announced plans to transform the Presidential Secretariat into a streamlined center for investor approvals. Speaking at a rally in Nawalapitiya on August 19, 2024, under the theme “A Victory for All – A United Country,” Premadasa outlined his vision for accelerating investment processes.
Premadasa emphasized his commitment to making the Presidential Secretariat a “ONE STOP SHOP” for investors. “Already, I have told the investors to get ready to start the process of setting up factories in Niamgam Divisional Secretariat Division Sisara from the 22nd,” he said. He noted that this concept of a central approval center was previously implemented during the era of his father, Ranasinghe Premadasa, and promised to revive it.
Under his administration, Premadasa plans to extend this initiative to the Kandy district, aiming to kickstart manufacturing industries across all twenty divisional secretariats in the area. He also addressed concerns related to the fertilizer sector, stating, “The founder of the country’s fertilizer tragedy is in this Kandy district. Organic fertilizer fraud, nano-fertilizer fraud, and stolen fertilizer money will be reclaimed from the thieves and returned to the people. All those who stole will be brought to justice.”
Premadasa concluded by reaffirming his commitment to reviving the “Gam Uda Yuga,” a program focused on building houses across the country, and called on supporters to join him in this mission.
