Colombo, August 21, 2024 – The SarwaJana Balaya has presented the second draft of its strategic plan, titled ‘A United Country – A Happy Tomorrow,’ to representatives of the Sri Lanka Chamber of Commerce. The handover took place during a meeting held at the Mawbima Janata Party headquarters, where the party’s presidential candidate, Mr. Dilith Jayaweera, and other party representatives engaged in discussions with the Chamber’s delegation.
This meeting is part of the Chamber of Commerce’s ongoing initiative to educate presidential candidates about their economic plan, ‘2030 Sri Lanka.’ During the discussions, Mr. Jayaweera shared the strategic program developed by SarwaJana Balaya, outlining their vision for the country’s future.
On the same day, SarwaJana Balaya organized a protest at Diyatha Uyana, near the Parliament Roundabout, to demand the withdrawal of the Commission Act on Truth Seeking, which they claim betrays the nation’s war heroes. The protest reflects the party’s strong stance against the proposed legislation, underscoring their commitment to protecting the interests of those who served during the country’s conflict.
The simultaneous presentation of the strategic plan and the protest highlight SarwaJana Balaya’s multifaceted approach to engaging with both the business community and the broader public as they push forward their agenda ahead of the upcoming presidential election.
