In a bold statement during a press conference held in Colombo, presidential candidate and entrepreneur Dilith Jayaweera, representing the Sarvajana Balaya alliance, declared that his party is the only one presenting a genuinely fresh program for the people of Sri Lanka. He criticized the other political contenders for merely recycling old policies, offering little to no innovation.
“The country is asking for something new, and we stand for it,” Jayaweera stated. “No other party has proposed anything truly different. Our strategic plan offers a unique approach, and we urge the people of Sri Lanka to look at this new idea from a fresh perspective.”
Jayaweera further emphasized that the Sarvajana Balaya party is breaking away from the traditional political rhetoric that has dominated previous elections. “We are not interested in playing the same game,” he said, stressing that their proposal for the country’s future stands out as a complete departure from the repetitive policies of the past.
When questioned about the National People’s Power (NPP) and their potential for change, Jayaweera questioned the novelty of their vision. “What is really different about the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) or Anura Kumara’s rhetoric? If they are simply shouting on stage and spreading the same old hatred without any real strategy, how can people trust them to deliver change?”
Jayaweera’s message is clear: the Sarvajana Balaya’s strategic plan is not just another set of promises but a true path forward for a country hungry for meaningful progress. With the elections fast approaching, he urged voters to look at his party’s “different” ideas with a fresh perspective.
