Many of Sri Lanka’s top businessmen, including the head of John Keells Group, have been seen attending political meetings across the board. Recently, President Ranil Wickramasinghe hosted a business meeting attended by several leading figures in the business community.
However, this wasn’t a one-time affair. Following the President’s meeting, these same businessmen were spotted participating in gatherings organized by other presidential candidates, including those from the National People’s Movement and the Samagi People’s Movement. This cross-campaign participation highlights the extent to which Sri Lankan business leaders are engaging with multiple political factions ahead of the elections.
