Galle, September 6, 2024 — The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) is preparing to form a new cabinet, with ministers expected to be sworn in on the 22nd of this month, according to the party’s General Secretary, Sagara Kariyawasam.
Speaking at the Galle District Secretariat, where he deposited the bail money for the upcoming Elpitiya local council elections, Kariyawasam expressed confidence in SLPP’s dominance in the political landscape. He emphasized that the party remains unafraid of elections and has full confidence in the people’s support.
Kariyawasam stated that SLPP’s presidential candidate, Namal Rajapaksa, is poised for victory in the upcoming presidential election. He also highlighted the party’s focus on significant local council development following the elections, particularly in Elpitiya.
Furthermore, Kariyawasam hinted that several state ministers would be elevated to full cabinet positions on September 22, reinforcing the party’s commitment to governance and national progress.
