Presidential candidate Dilith Jayaweera, a prominent businessman, confidently stated that recent surveys indicate he is the frontrunner in the upcoming presidential election. In an interview with a national newspaper, Jayaweera said that voters are looking for fresh leadership, tired of unfulfilled promises made by former political heavyweights.
He pointed out that many of his competitors were once powerful ministers who repeatedly failed to deliver on their commitments. “Four promise papers have been made, yet people are rejecting this kind of politics,” Jayaweera noted. He added, “The surveys show the people are ready for a new direction, and that’s why they are choosing someone else.”
Jayaweera confidently highlighted that he and his team are offering a different approach, backed by the star symbol of his campaign, and promised to meet the expectations of those looking for a change in leadership.
