Welimada – September 9, 2024 – Samagi Jana Balawega’s presidential candidate, Sajith Premadasa, has vowed to forgo all personal benefits if elected as president. Speaking at a rally in Welimada, Premadasa made a bold promise, declaring that he will not take even a sip of water or a mouthful of food from the people’s tax money after assuming office.
Addressing the crowd, he stated: “When the people give us that sacred mandate on the 21st, I will make the greatest sacrifice. I will be a president who works without salaries or allowances. I will serve the country as a volunteer, not taking a single meal or drop of water from the people’s taxes.”
Premadasa positioned this as a stark contrast to past leaders, emphasizing that his presidency will focus entirely on service and sacrifice, setting an unprecedented example of leadership.
Do it now itself.
The money they stole is enough to feed generations hence without taking salary but with kickbacks they can live. A bafoon. RW is the only alternative for an another 5 years.
