Eheliyagoda, September 9, 2024 – Presidential candidate and entrepreneur Dilith Jayaweera has sharply criticized the policy statements of his rivals, claiming they lack practicality and fail to address the country’s real needs. Addressing a rally in Eheliyagoda, Jayaweera emphasized that his manifesto, the Manifesto of Universal Power, is the only one offering a viable program for national development.
Jayaweera asserted that the other candidates’ plans are ineffective and unlikely to bring meaningful change. “Those 4 people who came will not make a difference,” he said, implying that the competing candidates’ promises are inadequate.
He urged voters to consider the gravity of their choice in the upcoming election. “When you wake up on the 22nd of your life, you are in this country. So you decide,” Jayaweera stated. He challenged voters to consider whether they want to move towards a developed world or remain in a less advanced state. “Do you go to the right world with this opportunity? Are you in the third world? Or are we a developed world? Do you create a happy country? Are you in a country full of anger? Are you in a country where houses are on fire?” he asked.
Jayaweera framed the election as a pivotal moment for the nation’s future, urging voters to seize the opportunity to secure a prosperous and stable future for generations to come.
