The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has been requested to arrest National People’s Force (NPF) leader Anura Dissanayake following a complaint filed by the People’s Force of Patriotism. The complaint accuses Dissanayake of creating unrest among ethnic groups through provocative statements.
Mr. Sugath Hewapathirana, the General Secretary of the People’s Force of Patriotism, has raised concerns about a recent speech made by Dissanayake in the Jaffna area. Hewapathirana claims that Dissanayake’s remarks could incite religious and ethnic tensions, posing a risk of escalating conflicts.
The complaint alleges that Dissanayake’s statements were designed to stir up unrest and undermine communal harmony. As a result, the People’s Force of Patriotism is calling on the CID to conduct a thorough investigation and take necessary legal actions against Dissanayake to prevent potential violence and maintain public order.
