Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP Tissa Attanayake has urged that Sajith Premadasa’s campaign must be intensified to secure at least fifty percent of the vote in the upcoming presidential election. Speaking during a recent radio discussion, Attanayake emphasized that Premadasa is currently leading the race, with other candidates trailing behind significantly.
Attanayake pointed out that with 14 million eligible voters this year, a candidate would need 7 million and one vote to secure the required 50% to win the presidency. He believes that while Premadasa is ahead of the competition, more effort is needed to ensure that he crosses the 50% threshold.
With the election approaching, Attanayake stressed the importance of focusing on mobilizing voter support and accelerating campaign efforts in the coming weeks.
