In a recent appearance on ‘TV Derana’s’ 360 Special program, Anura Kumara Dissanayake, presidential candidate of the National People’s Power (NPP), made a startling claim about an imminent coup. Dissanayake suggested that the next few days might bring unexpected and potentially destabilizing events orchestrated by the government or Sajith Premadasa’s camp.
Dissanayake emphasized that while the NPP’s goal is to win the election, there are concerns about threats and conspiracies that could disrupt the electoral process. He urged the public to stay vigilant and avoid getting involved in any conflicts that may arise. The candidate also called for the police and armed forces to act decisively to prevent any such disruptions from escalating.
In addition to his warning, Dissanayake outlined plans for reducing electricity tariffs if the NPP comes to power. Speaking at a rally in Akurassa, he pledged that his administration would work towards further cuts in electricity costs, aiming to alleviate the financial burden on the public.
