Dilith Jayaweera, presidential candidate for Sarvajana and entrepreneur, has announced a new initiative called “Hithe Haiya,” aimed at replacing the existing subsidy system in Sri Lanka.
Speaking at a rally in Monaragala, Jayaweera criticized the current subsidy programs, describing them as ineffective and deceptive. He argued that past schemes such as Janasaviya, Prosperity, and others have failed to deliver real benefits to the people.
Jayaweera introduced “Hithe Haiya” as a transformative program designed to improve economic conditions for families. He promised that under this program, families would receive a minimum income of one lakh rupees and outlined plans to significantly increase this amount, emphasizing that the program is designed to uplift individuals and provide substantial financial support.
The candidate assured that the “Hithe Haiya” program would be a game-changer, aiming to replace dependency on subsidies with a more robust financial support system.
