SB Dissanayake, speaking at a meeting held at the Hatton Dik Oya Municipal Council Hall, has criticized presidential candidate Sajith Premadasa’s campaign promises. Dissanayake, who was rallying support for Mr. Ranil Wickramasinghe, claimed that Premadasa’s promises would require an additional forty thousand crores of rupees to fulfill.
Dissanayake questioned where Premadasa would source this substantial amount of money if elected. He also criticized Premadasa’s track record, asserting that despite being the Minister of Housing in 2015— a ministry Dissanayake claims to have established— Premadasa failed to make a significant impact, particularly in the plantation sector.
He further stated that Sajith Premadasa’s father opposed the establishment of provincial councils in the north and criticized the current candidate for not addressing the needs of Tamil people effectively.
