Sajith Premadasa, the presidential candidate of Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB), declared that he will win the upcoming presidential election by a clear majority, securing over 2 million more votes than his rivals. He made this bold claim during a special interview on Hiru TV.
Premadasa, while projecting confidence in his victory, emphasized his commitment to serving the people as a populist leader. He described himself as a “volunteer president,” signaling that his leadership would be centered around selfless service rather than personal or political gain.
“We will win with a 2 million vote majority — that’s certain. I can guarantee this victory because the people of this country are with us,” he said, assuring his supporters of a decisive win in the election.
Addressing the issue of law and order, Premadasa sent a strong message to those engaging in violence, intimidation, and terrorism, promising a firm stance against any form of brutality. “I want to tell everyone — whether you support us or not — that we will protect you. Democracy will win, and law and order will be upheld. There will be no tolerance for violence under my administration.”
Premadasa also highlighted his deep-rooted commitment to public service. “When I meet you as president, nothing will change except that I will be even more dedicated to the people. I will remain humble and continue to be people-centered in every action,” he assured.
He ended by expressing his confidence in becoming the ninth executive president of Sri Lanka and reiterated his unique vision of leading as the country’s first president who operates voluntarily, with a sole focus on serving the citizens.
“I believe the people will elect me, and I promise to work tirelessly for their benefit,” Premadasa concluded.
