Election Commissioner General Saman Sri Ratnayake has made an appeal to the public to ensure the presidential election remains peaceful as voting continues across Sri Lanka. He emphasized the importance of upholding the peaceful atmosphere that has characterized the election so far.
Ratnayake also noted that, as of now, no incidents related to the presidential election have been reported, reflecting a smooth and orderly process. Furthermore, officials have observed a strong voter turnout, with heightened interest among the public to participate in this year’s historic election.
The Election Commission continues to encourage all citizens to exercise their voting rights responsibly and help ensure a peaceful democratic process.
