In a move aimed at streamlining resources, the government has returned 19 vehicles that were previously transferred to the President’s Office from various ministries and departments. The handover took place today (October 1) at the parking area near the President’s Office, according to the Presidential Media Division.
Fifteen of the vehicles were collected by officials from the respective institutions after being notified in advance. These vehicles had been brought to the President’s Office during the previous administration for various purposes. Among the vehicles returned were eight from the Road Development Authority, three from the Ministry of Finance, and one each from the Southern Provincial Council, the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation, and the Department of Wildlife.
The event was overseen by senior officials from the President’s Office, including Roshan Gamage, Senior Additional Secretary, and Mahesh Hewawitharana. This initiative reflects the government’s ongoing efforts to ensure better management of state resources.
