The Russian Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Levan S. Dzhagaryan, met with President Anura Kumara Dissanayake on the morning of October 1st to deliver a personal message from President Vladimir Putin.
According to the Presidential Media Unit, President Putin expressed optimism that under Dissanayake’s leadership, the bilateral relations between Russia and Sri Lanka are expected to strengthen. During their discussion, the ambassador and the president focused on enhancing the long-term diplomatic ties between the two countries.
Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to improving diplomatic relations and emphasized the importance of cooperation in key areas, including trade, investment, culture, and education. The ambassador also extended his greetings to President Dissanayake during the meeting.
