Colombo, Sri Lanka — Former Member of Parliament Rajika Wickremesinghe and Daham Sirisena have officially joined the Mawbima Janatha Party (MJP) today (October 3). The announcement was made at the party headquarters in Colombo.
Rajika Wickremesinghe, who previously served as a Member of Parliament representing the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) on the national list, has been appointed as the Kegalle District Organizer for the Mawbima Janatha Party.
Daham Sirisena, son of former President Maithripala Sirisena, has been appointed as the Polonnaruwa District Organizer for the party.
Additionally, Chalidu Kumarasinghe has been appointed as the Coordinator for the Polonnaruwa District, while Takshila Premasiri has been named the Upper Kothmale Organizer. Sanjeewa Suraveera will serve as the Upper Hela Organizer, and Thushitha Tilanka Jayasinghe has been appointed as the Rathgama Organizer.
These appointments are part of the party’s strategy to strengthen its organizational structure ahead of the upcoming elections.
