The Colombo High Court has extended the suspension on 16 bank accounts and 5 life insurance policies, amounting to a total of Rs. 97 million, belonging to former Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella and his family members. The suspension, which applies to six individuals in total, will remain in effect until January 4, 2025.
The extension follows a request by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC), which is investigating the case. The suspended accounts and policies are part of an ongoing inquiry into alleged financial irregularities linked to Rambukwella and his family.
The investigation is expected to continue, with further developments anticipated as the case proceeds.
