The Ministry of Transport, Highways, Ports, and Aviation Services has announced that the much-anticipated Port Entrance Expressway project will be completed by December. Currently, 90% of the work is finished, with final touches underway.
Initiated in September 2019 with funding from the Asian Development Bank, the 5.3 km, four-lane expressway will connect the New Kelani Bridge to Galle Modara, passing through the bustling port city.
Once opened, this expressway is expected to provide a significant solution to Colombo’s notorious traffic jams, promising smoother commutes for thousands of daily travelers.
