Mr. Wasantha Samarasinghe emphasized that the investigations have already shaken the Rajapaksa camp, who he claims are scrambling to cover up their past wrongdoings. He made direct references to key individuals, saying, “Namal Rajapaksa thinks he can distract us with stories of Uganda, but we are going to dig deep into how the money was moved to Dubai accounts, and how the gems went missing from Sri Lanka.”
Samarasinghe also pointed out that these investigations are not limited to Sri Lanka, but are expanding to uncover how corrupt dealings reached international levels. “They may have flown to lavish weddings on private planes, but those flights will be traced. Their dealings in places like Abu Dhabi are also under scrutiny.”
He noted that the investigations are being carried out systematically, targeting all those responsible. “Enemies are agitated because they know we are serious this time. Whether it is about the Airbus deal or the stolen ship full of waste, nothing will be left unexamined.”
He concluded by stating that the public has waited a long time for justice, and that these investigations mark the beginning of accountability for the crimes and corruption linked to the Rajapaksa family.
