Former Member of Parliament Patali Champika Ranawaka has announced his departure from the Samagi Jana Balavega (SJB) amid a contentious dispute regarding his potential position on the national list for the upcoming parliamentary elections.
At a press conference in Colombo, Ranawaka declared that he would not be contesting in this election, citing a violation of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Samagi Jana Sanandhana and his party.
His decision comes as tensions rise within the SJB over the allocation of national list seats, reflecting the broader struggles and conflicts within the alliance as they prepare for the electoral battle ahead.
