COLOMBO – K.D. Lalkanta, a national executive member of the National People’s Force (NPP) and former Member of Parliament, stated that the upcoming government would not immediately meet the country’s expectations for development. He attributed Sri Lanka’s current state of deterioration to the combined failures of central and local governments, as well as the civil service.
Lalkanta emphasized the need for a progressive public service, noting that while some dedicated individuals work within the system, the overall structure has contributed to the nation’s problems. He asserted that simply changing governments would not be enough to solve the deep-rooted issues.
The NPP plans to form a new government on November 14, followed by the establishment of local councils and eventually provincial administrations. Lalkanta urged citizens, public service workers, and the government to collaborate in building a better future. He cautioned that significant progress would require time and a collective effort from all sectors to transform Sri Lanka into the developed country that people aspire to achieve.
Yes I agree with mr Lalkantha. Each one of us have to be the change NOT just carry on as in t past. The public needs to take on responsibility and accoubtability.
