The National Audit Office has reported that the Sri Lankan Air Force is owed a total of Rs 12.6 million from 10 government institutions and 2 private entities as rental payments for aircraft. According to the audit report, this outstanding amount has been accumulating for periods ranging from 5 to 20 years.
The report highlights a concerning trend, indicating that the Air Force’s aircraft rental income has been adversely affected since 2016. This decline in revenue raises questions about the management and utilization of military resources and emphasizes the need for improved oversight and collection efforts to address the growing financial shortfall.
