Dharmasena scoots off to India for Cricket World Cup, as cops delay to act on complaint
The Colombo Additional Magistrate Pasan Amarasena has ordered the Narahenpita Police to arrest Sri Lanka’s International Cricket Council (ICC) Elite Panel Umpire Kumar Dharmasena, his wife, along with a few other suspects, after a complaint was filed in court by Malinga Fernando the Managing Director of Ascent International claiming that they had entered his premise and threatened the occupants with firearms.

Attorney at Law Nalinda Indatissa appearing for the aggrieved party, had informed court that his client had initially reported the incident to the Narahenpita Police situated in Colombo on the 17th of August 2023 and that they had failed to act upon it. His client had then lodged a second complaint to the Police on the 19th of September 2023 and had subsequently sought the court’s assistance due to the inaction taken by the police regarding their filed report.
A Sunday Newspaper reporting this story, stated that the Police had vehenmently denied the facr that their failure to act upon the complaint had nothing to do with them providing special privilegdes to Umpire Dharmasena.
Many of the public are of the view that the Narahenpita Police had purposefully stalled commencing their investigation into the lodged complaint, as doing so may have impeded Umpire Dharmasena’s departure to India to officiate at the ICC Cricket World Cup.
However, after hearing both parties, the court then ordered the Police to arrest Umpire Dharmasena, his wife and others involved and have them produced in court.
It is reliably learnt that Dharmasena, his wife and others ordered to be arrested are Directors of Pintanna Plantations, a company that is owned by the ICC Elite Umpire.
Meanwhile, It was barely two months ago that Dharmasena was embroiled in yet another incident, when a video showing him having phone sex with a female went viral on social media.
The said video is in The Morning Telegraph’s possession.
A still from Umpire Dharmasena’s sex video that went viral
Dharmasena who on the cricket field is famously seen lifting an erect finger to signal the dismissal of a batsman, was in this instance exposed stroking his erect penis. He was first seen masturbating in bed and later walks towards the screen to let his partner take a closer look at his manhood. His partner on the other hand was witnessed conversing with him, whilst feeling her vaginal area.
However, what is alarming is as to how the ICC has now on both occasions chosen to turn a blind eye towards Umpire Dharmasena’s behaviour, especially when in the public domain. Under normal circustances the ICC is swift to take action if and when its employees flout its Code of Conduct. However in Dharmasena’s case it appears that the ICC has chosen to do otherwise.
Reliable sources confirmed that Umpire Dharmasena is expected to be arrested upon arrival to the country after he returns from the World Cup that is currently taking place in India.
