Mr. Dilith Jayaweera, leader of Sarvajana Balaya emphasized the urgent need to implement the entrepreneurial state concept to ensure the happiness of the people in Sri Lanka. Speaking at a public meeting in Nittambuvedi on October 24, he highlighted the significance of this approach in transforming the current political landscape.
During his address, Jayaweera remarked, “People’s power enters the political arena during a time when our politics is confused and exposed. The situation demands a fresh perspective. Our vision is to create a country where citizens can thrive and be happy. We are looking to developed nations, including our neighbor India, to guide us in this journey. The entrepreneurial state concept is not just an idea; it is our only viable solution.”
He underscored his commitment to the cause, stating, “I have no personal gains from this endeavor. This isn’t about me; it’s about our future. This time, the opposition merely waited for those who received 3% support to now claim 43%. They acted as if they were steering the ship, engaging in empty rhetoric. That’s simply not feasible. Now, 43% of the population have endorsed the government of Comrade Anura Kumara, indicating a significant shift in public sentiment.”
Jayaweera defined his group as the “bold opposition” and “universal power,” focusing on constructive engagement rather than divisive politics. He said, “We are not here to undermine anyone. Our aim is to build a robust opposition that aligns with democratic principles. We want to create an environment where we can discuss how to safeguard the nation from harmful influences and promote positive initiatives. We are advocating for a vote to represent your voice effectively.”
He further elaborated on the concept of an entrepreneurial state, explaining that it involves government policies that support entrepreneurship, innovation, and economic development. “In an entrepreneurial state, the government plays a proactive role in facilitating business growth, creating jobs, and ultimately improving the quality of life for all citizens. This approach has proven successful in many countries, and it is time we adopt it for our benefit.”
Jayaweera concluded by urging citizens to recognize the importance of their participation in shaping the future of the country. “Your voice matters. Together, we can work towards a Sri Lanka where everyone has the opportunity to succeed and live a fulfilling life. Let us embrace this entrepreneurial spirit and build a brighter future for all.”
