A jeep belonging to former Member of Parliament Lohan Ratwatte was involved in an accident in the Wariyapola Dangahapola area. The driver of the jeep has since been arrested in connection with the incident. According to police reports, the vehicle, which was serving as a back-up for Ratwatte, veered off the road while attempting to overtake a three-wheeler, crashing into a bus stop.
Following the accident, local residents expressed their anger by protesting against Ratwatte and his entourage. Complaints were also lodged with the police, alleging that firearms were present in the MP’s vehicle. In response, authorities conducted a search at the Wariyapola police station, where they discovered two Raptor-type firearms and a pistol in the vehicle.
