Manusha Nanayakkara, the Galle district candidate for the New Democratic Front, recently voiced his concerns to the media regarding the National People’s Force Party’s failure to deliver on the commitments made during the presidential election. Speaking in Galle, he highlighted a growing sense of dissatisfaction among the public towards the current government’s inability to meet its pledges, which he believes is eroding trust in its leadership.
In light of this discontent, Nanayakkara underscored the urgency of holding a general election as soon as possible to address the people’s grievances. He expressed his apprehension that if the government does not take swift action to fulfill its promises, public frustration will only intensify, making it imperative for leaders to be accountable and proactive.
He reiterated that since the government currently holds power, it is their responsibility to initiate measures that align with the aspirations of the electorate. By doing so, he argued, the government can work towards restoring faith in its capacity to lead and deliver on its commitments.
