Former Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa has expressed the need to give the newly established government more time to prove its effectiveness, suggesting that evaluating its success or failure too early would be premature.
Speaking to reporters, Rajapaksa noted that only about a month has passed since the new administration took office. “What can a government accomplish in just one month? They should be given a chance to carry on with their work. There’s no point in rushing to criticize them immediately after they’ve taken charge,” he remarked.
Rajapaksa’s comments come in response to public questions about the performance of the new government, emphasizing the importance of patience to allow the administration to establish its plans and policies.
