The Legislative Assembly has officially approved the appointment of new members to the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL).
This decision was made during a session held last night, reflecting the commitment to ensuring the efficient regulation of public utilities in the country.
The Public Utilities Commission, which plays a crucial role in overseeing sectors such as electricity and water, now comprises five members:
- Professor K. P. L. Chandralal
- Professor W. B. A. Rodrigo
- Dr. M. P. S. Fernando
- P. Hennayake
- High Court Judge Vikum Kaluarachchi
The new members are expected to address key challenges in the energy sector, particularly concerning the regulation of electricity tariffs.
