The third review of Sri Lanka’s economic program with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) is set to conclude on Friday, November 22, according to Mahinda Siriwardena, Secretary to the Ministry of Finance.
The IMF representatives currently visiting Sri Lanka are engaging in discussions with government officials, including those from the Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank, as part of the review process. President Anura Kumara Dissanayake is also expected to meet with the IMF team to address key areas of the program.
The discussions are focused on assessing Sri Lanka’s progress in implementing reforms under the IMF’s Extended Fund Facility (EFF) program. The outcome of this review will determine the next steps in the disbursement of financial assistance and provide critical insights into the country’s economic recovery efforts.
The Ministry of Finance has confirmed that the IMF team aims to finalize the groundwork for the third review by the end of this week.
