Niroshan Peiris, CEO of Laugfs Gas Company, confirmed that a ship carrying 22,000 metric tons of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) has docked at the Hambantota Port and is currently being unloaded. While addressing the media, Peiris stated that no decision has been made regarding any revision of gas prices at this time.
Peiris assured that necessary logistical arrangements are in place to ensure the efficient distribution of gas across the island. Laugfs aims to distribute 100,000 gas cylinders daily to meet consumer demand and eliminate any potential shortages.
In addition, Peiris revealed that another gas shipment is expected to arrive next week, reinforcing the company’s commitment to maintaining a stable supply of LPG throughout the country. With these measures, Laugfs intends to ensure that households and businesses continue to have uninterrupted access to gas.
