Deputy Speaker Rizvi Salih has addressed the controversy surrounding election leaflets that referred to him as a “specialist,” clarifying that he does not hold such a title. In a statement, Salli explained that the leaflets were created by others during the last general election campaign, and it was not his decision to present him as a specialist.
He emphasized that upon seeing the leaflets, he immediately informed those responsible for their creation and distribution, asking them to correct the error and cease distributing the materials. However, despite his request, the leaflets were still circulated during the election period, which Salih claims occurred for reasons outside his control.
Salih also took to social media at the time to publicly clarify his educational qualifications and professional background. He confirmed that he does not possess the qualifications that would justify being called a specialist, and expressed his disappointment that the misleading information had been shared without his approval.
The Deputy Speaker’s comments come after public scrutiny over the leaflets, with many questioning how such a significant error was allowed to persist during the election campaign. Salih’s clarification highlights his ongoing commitment to transparency and setting the record straight regarding his qualifications.
