The incident involved four individuals, two males and two females,who were in the process of stealing a white BMW 328i. Thanks to the Sri Lankan man’s quick thinking and decisive action, the thieves fled the scene, leaving behind a trail of evidence captured on his phone.
A Bold Confrontation
When contacted by The Morning Telegraph, the Sri Lankan man, who requested anonymity, recounted his courageous actions:
“My friend had just closed his dealership and gone home, but I stayed behind in the building. From a distance, I noticed a group of people near the white BMW. They had parked their car nearby, opened both bonnets, and were attempting to jump-start the vehicle. Realizing something was amiss, I immediately called my friend to inform him. He urged me to act quickly to prevent the theft.”
Without hesitation, the man descended the fire escape and approached the scene, snapping photos of the suspects and their vehicle along the way.
“The group looked confused and unsure of who I was, but they quickly understood I was taking pictures of them. One of the men hurriedly removed the jump-start cables, and they all fled the scene in their car.” the Sri Lankan man went on to say.
He described the group in detail, noting, “It was alarming to see a female emerge from the BMW. There was another man and woman also who were seated in the back of their car. There were four of them in total.”

Following the incident, the Sri Lankan man dialed 911, and two Deputy Sheriffs from the Carson Police Station promptly arrived at the scene.
