A Colombo District MP representing the National People’s Power (NPP) has been accused of theft and infidelity by his wife, a lawyer, who has lodged a formal complaint with the police.
According to the complaint, the MP allegedly took her Prado jeep without consent and is suspected of using it for questionable activities. The lawyer-wife claimed that this has caused her significant inconvenience, as she is unable to use the vehicle for her personal and professional needs.
In a shocking revelation, the wife also accused the MP of maintaining an extramarital affair with another NPP parliamentarian. Despite repeated warnings and requests to end the alleged affair, she stated that her husband continued the relationship, prompting her to leave their shared residence and move in with her mother.
The police have confirmed that an investigation into the allegations is underway, focusing on both the alleged theft of the Prado jeep and the personal claims made in the complaint. Further developments are expected as inquiries progress.
The incident has sparked significant attention, raising questions about personal conduct and its implications for public figures in positions of authority.
