A little-known gift to Sri Lankans has been discovered, etched in stone along the Southern Expressway. The inscription reveals that former President Mahinda Rajapaksa presented the “Rest Bay,” or “Viraama Mandiraya,” as a ‘Gift” to the people of Sri Lanka as a dedicated resting spot on the expressway.
The unmitigated gall to refer to it as a “gift”… beggars belief..! Oh Sri Lanka!
