Former minister Manusha Nanayakkara has reportedly left Sri Lanka, sparking speculation on social media regarding his destination and reasons for departure. It is claimed that Nanayakkara traveled to Switzerland and subsequently to another European country.
Unverified reports suggest that he initially left the country alone and later arranged for his wife and children to join him abroad. However, a close associate of the former minister dismissed these claims, stating that Nanayakkara had only left on a personal year-end trip and would return to Sri Lanka soon.
The timing of his departure has drawn attention due to legal troubles faced by his family. Nanayakkara’s brother was recently arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on charges of defrauding individuals by promising foreign employment opportunities. He has since been produced in court and remanded in custody.
