The wildfires ravaging Los Angeles have left a shocking trail of devastation, claiming lives, destroying homes, and upending entire communities. Among the thousands affected, some of Hollywood’s biggest stars have suffered immense personal losses as their multi-million-dollar homes were consumed by the inferno. These fires, fueled by extreme winds and dry conditions, have already claimed ten lives and displaced 180,000 residents, with over 10,000 structures destroyed.
The affluent areas of Pacific Palisades, Malibu, and Altadena were hit hardest. The fires spread rapidly, driven by hurricane-force winds, leaving a wake of destruction. Celebrities fled in haste, only to return to find their homes reduced to ashes.
Mel Gibson, the Oscar-winning actor and filmmaker, returned to find his $14.5 million Malibu mansion completely destroyed. While filming The Joe Rogan Experience in Texas, Gibson learned of the fire engulfing his neighborhood. “When I got home, sure enough, it wasn’t there,” he said in a tearful interview. Gibson, who had lived in the five-bedroom mansion since 2008, expressed relief that his family was safe despite losing irreplaceable personal belongings.
Paris Hilton’s $8.4 million beachfront Malibu mansion was another casualty. Hilton posted videos of the charred remains of her home and recounted fleeing with her pets in the middle of the night. She purchased the home in 2021 and often used it as a retreat, but it now lies in ruins along with several iconic local businesses.
Julia Louis-Dreyfus, star of Veep, lost her five-bedroom, five-bathroom home in Pacific Palisades. Photos of her property show little more than rubble and scorched earth, while some surrounding homes remain intact.

As of Wednesday afternoon, officials haven’t provided an estimate of structures damaged or destroyed in the wildfire, but they said at least 100,000 residents were under evacuation orders and nearly 30,000 structures were under threat.
At least 100,000 additional people have been warned they should consider evacuating.

Top Gun: Maverick star Miles Teller and his wife Keleigh bought their dream home for $7.5million in April 2023.
The home is now entirely wiped out.
Shocking pictures show a car parked in the driveway was also completely charred.
Keleigh had shared several photos on Instagram overnight, the first being a dramatic photo of the blaze with a crying emoji, and the second urging evacuees to leave bowls of water on the streets for animals as they escaped.
The couple have not yet commented on the loss of their own home.
The sprawling five bed, seven bath home was built in 2015, equipped with a movie theatre, gym and custom staircase.
It is understood the property was purchased as a ‘secondary residence.’
Candy Spelling, widow of famed TV producer Aaron Spelling, lost her $23 million Malibu estate. She expressed her devastation, calling it a massive loss for her family.
Cary Elwes, star of The Princess Bride, revealed that his family was safe but shared the heartbreaking news that their home was gone.
Jamie Chung and Bryan Greenberg also lost their home in the fires. Greenberg posted, “Family is safe, and that’s all that matters,” while sharing photos of the destruction.

The Pacific Palisades property was right in the path of the blaze, which has already scorched more than 15,000 acres and was traveling as far as five football fields a minute.

Lake, 56, bought the property back in 2014. She and husband Ross Sussman tied the knot there in their backyard just three years ago.
‘I can’t believe I am typing these words […] Ross and I lost our dream home,’ Lake wrote on Instagram.
‘This description ‘dream home’ doesn’t suffice. It was our heaven on earth. The place where we planned to grow old together.
‘We never took our heavenly spot on the bluff overlooking our beloved Malibu for granted, not even for one second. This loss is immeasurable.’
Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag lost their home as well. Montag shared tearful videos of their evacuation, expressing her sadness over the destruction of their family home.
Mandy Moore revealed that her Altadena home was partially burned but still standing. However, she shared that her in-laws’ home and her brother’s home were completely destroyed, leaving her family grappling with immense loss.
