This visit, taking place at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, will be President Dissanayake’s first official trip to China since assuming office. It underscores the strategic importance both nations place on fostering mutual cooperation.
During his visit, President Dissanayake is set to engage in high-level discussions with key Chinese leaders, including President Xi Jinping, Premier Li Keqiang, and Zhao Lijie, the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress.
A Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson emphasized that the visit aims to deepen the longstanding friendship between the two nations, enhance political understanding, and further solidify the China-Sri Lanka strategic cooperative partnership.
