Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) spokesperson and Member of Parliament, S.M. Marikkar, announced today that discussions are underway to unite all right-wing parties in opposition to the Anura’s Malima government.
Speaking to the media, Marikkar emphasized that the alliance’s focus is not on leadership disputes but rather on fostering a unified front. “It’s not about who the leader is, but Samagi Jana Balawegaya, being the largest opposition party, carries significant influence. We currently hold 40 seats in Parliament, and that serves as a critical foundation for this initiative,” he explained.
Marikkar also revealed that the SJB has already appointed a representative to engage in discussions with other parties, signaling the party’s commitment to building a robust coalition.
This development comes as political tensions rise, with right-wing parties looking to consolidate their position to challenge the government more effectively.
