The “Gamin Gamata” (Village to Village) program, organized by the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP), is set to commence tomorrow (February 2).
SLPP General Secretary Attorney-at-Law Sagara Kariyawasam stated that the initiative will begin with religious observances at the Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi in Anuradhapura tomorrow morning, followed by a special religious ceremony.
Following this, the first public event under the program is scheduled to take place in Nochchiyagama at 2:00 PM.
The “Gamin Gamata” campaign aims to engage with the public to discuss the current political landscape, the SLPP’s future strategies, and what they describe as repressive measures being implemented by the government.
Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa will actively participate in the program, which has been designed to reach 14,000 villages across Sri Lanka, including those in the Northern and Eastern provinces.
Additionally, the initiative includes visits to key constituencies where SLPP representatives will meet with local activists and party members ahead of the upcoming provincial elections.
The SLPP intends to use this campaign to reconnect with grassroots communities and strengthen its political presence across the country.
