Deputy Minister of Housing T.B. Sarath has declared that the National People’s Power (NPP) government will continue to govern Sri Lanka for the next 15 years, stating that no opposition or external force can shake its foundation.
Speaking at a public function, Sarath dismissed concerns over minor financial challenges, emphasizing that the government is not burdened by scandals like the Central Bank bond issue and remains steadfast in its governance. He asserted that small disputes and criticisms will not weaken the administration’s grip on power.
Sarath further claimed that the upcoming budget will be the first in Sri Lanka’s history designed specifically for the poor, focusing on relief measures, economic reforms, and long-term stability. He insisted that the government’s policies are aimed at uplifting the working class and addressing the economic struggles of ordinary citizens.
His statement reinforces the NPP’s confidence in its long-term political future, despite ongoing economic challenges and opposition criticism.
