
- Anuruddha Lokuhapuarachchi Takes Over as Director of International Media
Veteran journalist Chandana Suriyabandara has been appointed as the Presidential Media Advisor, while Anuruddha Lokuhapuarachchi has been named the Director of International Media and Strategic Communications of the Presidential Media Division.
Both officials received their appointment letters from the Secretary to the President, Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake, during a formal ceremony held this afternoon (24) at the Presidential Secretariat.
With over 30 years of experience in the media sector, Chandana Suriyabandara has earned widespread recognition for his contributions to journalism in Sri Lanka. His expertise as a communicator and his deep understanding of the media landscape have made him a trusted figure in the industry. In addition to his work in journalism, he is also an accomplished writer.
Anuruddha Lokuhapuarachchi, a distinguished media photographer, has played a pioneering role in introducing digital photography to Sri Lankan journalism. Having worked with the international news agency Reuters for nearly two decades, he brings extensive experience in the field. Lokuhapuarachchi holds an honors degree in photography and digital photography, further solidifying his expertise in the industry.
Their appointments are expected to strengthen the Presidential Media Division’s strategic communication efforts, both domestically and internationally.
