Former Parliamentarian Dilum Amunugama has criticized the current government, stating that a motorcycle, which was distributed free of charge to government employees during Mahinda Rajapaksa’s tenure, is now being sold for Rs. 1.4 million under the present administration.
He also alleged that the government had requested Vitz cars for Rs. 1.2 million, but those vehicles have since gone missing.
Expressing his frustration, Amunugama remarked that, despite ongoing political changes, no one has yet admitted to voting for the Compass, leading him to jokingly question whether he was the only one who did.
He made these comments while addressing a public meeting.
