Chairman of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC), Ananda Rajakaruna, has assured the public that there is no risk of a fuel shortage, urging consumers not to panic.
Speaking to Ada Derana, Rajakaruna stated that the corporation has adequate fuel stocks and has not received any official notification from fuel stations indicating a halt in fuel orders. He further confirmed that fuel stocks required for the next day have already been ordered by customers.
However, the Petroleum Distributors Association, addressing a media conference this afternoon, announced that they would suspend fuel orders in response to CPC’s decision to remove the 3% discount previously offered to distributors.
Despite this, the CPC reassures that fuel distribution will continue without disruption, emphasizing that consumers do not need to be concerned about supply shortages.
