Distributors of the Lanka Indian Oil Company (LIOC) have decided to suspend fuel orders, citing financial strain caused by recent decisions of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC).
Chairman of the Lanka Indian Oil Company Distributors Association, Kosala Bandara, stated that distributors are incurring losses of Rs. 35,000 per fuel bowser due to pressure exerted by the Petroleum Corporation. He warned that if the situation persists, fuel distribution businesses will collapse within months.
As a result, the association has collectively decided to withdraw from placing fuel orders, further escalating the ongoing fuel supply crisis.
