The General Secretary of the Bodu Bala Sena (BBS), Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thero, has claimed that the leadership of an extremist Muslim group in the Eastern Province, known as ‘Super Muslim,’ is held by a doctor currently employed at a government hospital in Kalmunai.
According to the organization, this doctor is actively working in the healthcare sector while leading the extremist group. Gnanasara Thero further alleged that this leader preaches the belief that the world is meaningless and discourages children from pursuing education or reading books. He claimed that the leader instructs followers to dedicate their lives to religious sacrifice.
Gnanasara Thero also stated that many followers of this group have stopped sending their children to school due to these teachings.
He made these statements while participating in a discussion with journalist Chamuditha Samarawickrama.
