
Elon Musk, the owner of the X social media platform, has confirmed that a massive cyberattack was responsible for the sudden outage affecting users in the United States and the United Kingdom.
Reports indicate that thousands of X accounts in both countries were suspended as a result of the attack.
In a post on his X account, Musk stated that such cyberattacks occur daily, but this particular incident was exceptionally large.
Due to the attack, the X platform was reportedly down for approximately six hours in the US and UK before services were restored.
