The General Secretary of the Bodu Bala Sena (BBS), Venerable Galagoda Atthe Gnanasara Thero, has revealed details of an alleged conspiracy to kidnap the Sacred Tooth Relic, a revered Buddhist artifact in Sri Lanka.
Speaking in an interview with an online channel, Gnanasara Thero claimed that the conspirators had even traveled to Singapore to learn the techniques of cutting glass, which they intended to use in their plan.
According to the Thero, the motive behind the conspiracy was to challenge state power, based on the belief that the individual who possesses the Tooth Relic holds ultimate authority in the country.
He further alleged that he was involved in the plan and was tasked with securing and transporting the kidnapped relic to a safe location.
Gnanasara Thero also accused Venerable Athuraliye Rathana Thero of being the mastermind behind the plot, stating that Rathana Thero played a central role in orchestrating the conspiracy.
